Rachel Young

Rachel Young • M.A., CCC-SLP

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Special Education with a concentration in Communication Disorders from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Rachel worked in a variety of settings during her graduate program, including inpatient hospitals, schools, early intervention clinics, and an aural rehabilitation clinic for the hard of hearing. In these settings, she gained experience evaluating and treating communication disorders involving articulation, language, cognition, voice, stuttering, motor speech, and swallowing. She has also attended the training for LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning).

Rachel is originally from Jackson, TN and moved to Memphis in July 2016 to work for JHA. Rachel loves the Vols and the Grizzlies. She enjoys running, spending time with friends, and trying all of Memphis’ delicious food on the weekends.  She is very excited to help her clients improve their communication skills at JHA.
